The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will perform a special concert “Music – It Runs In The Family” on Thursday, February 8th, at 8:00 PM at the LDS Conference Center. The concert will be a celebration of the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein and will be narrated by Oscar “Andy” Hammerstein, the grandson of Oscar Hammerstein. Broadway performer Dallyn Vail Bayles will also be featured in the concert. He has a powerful voice and is a master performer of the music of Rogers and Hammerstein. Tickets are free but must be obtained here. The event will last an hour and is open to anyone over 8 years of age. It is offered in conjuction with the 2017 Roots Tech Conference.
Featuring music from State Fair, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I, Oklahoma, and The Sound of Music, this special once-in-a-lifetime musical event will entertain the entire family. This spectacular will tell the amazing history through story and video of one of Broadway’s most creative and productive families, the Hammersteins; the special relationship they have had with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir since the 1960s; and how generations are united by this timeless music and the talent who performs it.
